Day 62 of Project 365: Appearances can be deceiving

I was taking a walk at work and found this sad looking bush. The flowers are hanging down and wilted. I wondered if it was the sudden shift from cold to hit that we’ve had here. A woman saw me taking a pic and said, “its an interesting plant isn’t it?” I said, “yea it looks so sad.” She said, “oh that’s how it looks. The flowers hang down like that. It’s normal. And its hallucinogenic.”

I wonder what happened in its evolution to make that happen? Does it attract insects? Do the insects find this sad ‘looking’ plant beautiful because of its hallucinogenic properties?
